took too long to charge batteries and get going this morning...
should be good tomorrow..... i need to get some boards so i can surf when it gets above 5ft on the north shore...

here is one i just saw from yesterday (hopefully this comes out clearly on the web - i need to get photoshop on this computer so i can fix some levels and things like that... all these photos are straight out of the camera, no editing whatsoever (i think i edited the one self-port. from japan, but dont remember how i did that...)

not sure if the wipe out turned out as intense as it was live... not sure who it is, but he later got one of the best tubes of the day...

looking through some pix to try to find something, i saw this one and though it was quite stunning...

the sundanese people are the nicest people on earth...

meet the new bike, same as the old bike (well not really!)

so i went with the f650gs, my old bike, an f650gs!
but the new bike is 2 cylinders, the old one 1, and the new one much more horsepower (at least 20 more), but a little less gas millage (something like 70 vs 50).. but still either way, much better than just about any car going, and way more fun to ride!

so, went to pipe to shoot, watch and if i felt comfortable, surf

well, when i first walked onto the beach, i saw a dude free fall into a backdoor pit, he landed the take off, but got swallowed.... this was from down the beach a way - when i got in front of the wave, the guy had made it to the beach with both halves of his board....








so that dude was mick fanning, and i soon realized that i was not surfing.. most of the waves were not made, but there were some amazing ones!

the lady getting pitched is a pro that surfs big waves...

the color is shit on most of them due to where i was sitting with the sea-spray and light - i did not know this bad until i got back here... def. should have moved down the beach a bit....


so another thing - the g450x is not an option... the one thing many many, just about everyone told me about here is that things get ripped off if left out... well, i was planning on locking the bike with a chain... which i am sure i would do most of the time, but since there would be times when i did not, early morning runs to the store and things like that, i figured that since the bike does not need a key to start! it is not the bike for me in hawaii....

so now considering an f650x or somehting like that or maybe the f800gs..

back in the first world...

so what does that mean?
i need a car! actually thinking of a motorcycle - it worked really well for me in bali, and from my very limited experience here, it seems like it would work well (parking and traffic, big pluses!)
this is what im thinking - will be able to get me anywhere! (bmw g450x)

it also means a somewhat regular schedule of work - 5am till about 1pm or so... gives me the afternoon to surf, or if need be can obviously surf in the morning and delay work if there are no meetings requiring my presence...

and it also means that for the first time in i have no idea how long, i am actually living in a place... renting from a friend, but still, it is a place that seems like i could hang (right on the ocean on the windward (east) side of oahu)...
25 minutes or so to the north shore...

ill bust out the camera tomorrow and shoot a bit..
